Hello
I tested now ShareThis and its really a great clean plugin.
Thats an important asset for postnuke for sure!
All worked fine so far, except i had some trouble with the link which should be shared
and a general handling issue.
Please checkout the plugin here:
http://www.daimonin.com/Daimonin-News-display-sid-4.html
As you can see i am using file based shorturl.
Now i emailed me the link and some glitches happend:
1.) The $links.permalink in the shareit call gives me the link
http://www.daimonin.com/pn.php?module=News&func=display&sid=4
which is the link pre-shorturl. I assume thats a problem in the news module,
but what i must change that shareit gets the right shorturl ?
2.) i emailed me the link and the email is showing me this:
http://www.daimonin.com/pn.php?module=News&func=display&sid=4
Which looks "over-amped" (one amp; for every & to much).
3.) After hitting ok for emailing, ShareIt tries to reload the page with the
link above, which leads of course to the wrong page.
I tried to look into this, but its a bit over my current postnuke knowledge.
The other issue is the email option itself.
It can be used for registered users only trough the permissions, thats clear, but it
should be done on default!
In the way the module code checks the caller is logged in and then showing for the email
option a "login first". At last that behaviour should be configurable.
Anon mailing features is for spammers like honey for bears. That will force them to write
for example a comment hook and then using the shareit interface as easy email spam for they
funny potence pills spam comment (or something like that - you got the general problem).
Which brings me to the 2nd point:
Instead of allowing the shareit user to insert their name & address, that MUST be grapped out
of the $user array.
Its also a term of abuse, like user A is mad to user B and user C is starting some flame war
by emailing user A in name of user B some topics where HE is speaking against A.
Ok, that sounds a bit like soup opera, but believe me - social web people love soup operas and
when they a bit bored by themself they love to do this kind of stuff.
Another thing would be to open the share it area on default... can that be done configurable in the
template call, when we call shareit? like "$enabled=true" or something.
