I am trying to use the Enhanced Block Mod. My site is running PN .764. I got the EBM mod for .764, but it didn't work right. I posted and had another user tell me he had the same problems, but was using the EBM for .762 with no problem. So, I got the .762 EBM.
The problem (?) I'm having is - the docs for EBM tell me to remove conditional arguments from with the themes/YourTheme/theme.php file that you'll find in the themeheader/themefooter functions round the "blocks('right');" and/or "blocks('centre');" statements. Usually the conditional takes the form of "if ($GLOBALS['index'] { ... }". This will make all block zones appear on *every* page - until you specify otherwise via the EBM - I can't find that in the file anywhere.
Can someone point me to where I need to edit the text in the theme.php?
I tried using it without editing the text, but the blocks are not showing on just the pages I tell it to, they show on all the pages.
Thanks in advance for any and all help - especially the "Dummies" version. :)

Your problem is probably Extralite. Extralite is a legacy theme, not a Xanthia theme.

Extralite is, i believe, intended for emergency use. You are going to be hard pressed to find 'support' for it. Google, xExtralite for a Xanthia version, it should help, if you must use ExtraLite.

    Thanks, David,
is there a difference between "classic" and "legacy" themes?
I may be posting more this weekend when I get a chance to work with the Xanthia themes. I tried to work with them before and got totally lost.
That's one thing that I like with the PN .8, it looks like it's a LOT easier to work with the themes. I have .8 running on a sandbox site and REALLY like how it works - Can't wait for it to finally get to the stable state.

    Words, words, words...

Legacy.. means without theme engine, to me.

Classic... that depends. I could mean legacy. If I were talking to one of my themer colleagues, it may refer to layout style.

Legacy would be a better term, in my opinion. Classic may mean different things to different people, at different times.

A few years ago, in Xanthia's infancy classic could have very well referred to non-engine themes.

    ...words, words...
