Multi-upload boxes for my users  Bottom

  • Hey there! I'm new to PostNuke but so far I'm finding it very cool. It's fast and seems to be pretty flexible.

I was wondering if there is a module for image/file uploads for my users. Perhaps a widget I can put in with the registration forum. Preferrably something with the abiltity to upload several images/files.

    I'm using PNuke 0.8.0.0-RC2.

Thanks so much and I look forward to hanging out here and learning some things.

    RDude

UPDATE: I just downloaded PNProfile and I'll give that a go. Forgive my laziness. LOL. Anyone know if this works ok with my version of PostNuke?

  • 1. pnProfile should work with .8 but it should also be a bit obsolete as the standard profile in .8 is better than in .7
    2. Try pnUserPictures that gives every user his own photo album

  • Thank you very much "kaffeeringe.de". That looks exactly like what I'm looking for,

    Much obliged,

  • Having some trouble with PNUsersPictures. It shows up in my 3rd Party section in my CPanel but not in my System section. Is there something more I have to do? I set everything up in the settings. Like thumbnail size, error messages, etc.
How do I incorporate PNPUsersPictures in with the profile? Or can I? Do I "Hook" it and how do I do that? LOL.

Sorry to be such a pain but I've searched for info. on these things and have not had any luck. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right place.

    Thanks

  • sorry I can't help you..cuz I'm brand new too.... :( but Loving Postnuke. :D
Hi my name is Aisha.. :)

since I read that I don't need to get the pnuserprofile (outdated) im in .8rc2 too..that its already 'better'.

my very very embarrassing question is.. is I don't understand why I don't see anything in my brightgem.com website? I don't know how this 'works.' I see profile in my admin panel... (but how does this all translate onto my actual website?)where IS my actual website?

    thanks..

to start with, I'm not the best at all of this, but since I've gotten help from some of the other guys here - I would like to try to help other newbies with what I've learned. :D
are you registered as the administrator of your site?
you will need to log-in as the administrator on the "front-end" of the site (which is basically the /index page).
Then it should show you YOUR information under the profile section. On your menu, you have "Profile" - the thing is, this is YOUR profile - other users will see THEIR profiles.
Your "Users" in the menu - do you want just anybody to see your members list? I went and looked at your site - it wouldn't let me go to the members list (which is fine), but you still have the button in the menu.
Basically, after you log in to your administration panel, you need to go into your permissions and set them so that unregistered users will only see whichever module names you want them to be able to access on the menu.
There are a number of posts on the forum here to set the permissions for your site. However, some of them can be confusing. The easiest way I've found for my permissions list is to remember that it is "read" from the bottom up. I've got all the permissions for "unregistered" at the bottom of the list, followed by "all groups", "users", "moderators", etc.
As a side note - according to the PN website, .8 RC 2 is not considered to be a "stable" version yet - it's only a "release candidate". I've got it running on one of my "sand box" or test sites. I'm running PN .764 for my "working" site.
I'm going to go register on your site so you have "quick" access to be able to ask anything I may be able to help with.
    best of luck,
    Mickey
