display of the following error in theme

i went to themes under layout in admin panel to edit the theme.

this is the error i find.

can anybody pls advise thanks.

Just a preliminary guess here:

Your theme may not be writable by the server. Do check the directory and file permissions of your ../public_html/themes directory.
