  • I just finished installing googlesitemap on my PN762

When I click on the link to see what is being displayed I see the following:

    < urlset >
    < url >
    < loc >http://www.zacatecas.net/< / loc >
    < lastmod >2007-09-14< / lastmod >
    < changefreq >monthly< / changefreq >
    < priority >0.8< / priority >
    < / url >
    < / urlset >'

This is all I see. What did I do wrong? or is it supposed to look like that?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

P.S. THis is the link to mi sitemap: http://www.zacatecas.net/index.php?module=googlesitemap
  • It's supposed to look something like that. It's plain XML for the search engines to feed. But it doesn't include any of you content - which version of Postnuke do you use?

  • I have 762 with googlesitemap 1.3
  • I am not sure if it's supposed to work with .762 - how do you like the idea of a Postnuke update? It would also decrease you security risks... icon_wink

  • Well, I decided to upgrade all the way to .8 but I am waiting for the multisite option to be ready so I can start working on that. I understand that 8 has a simpler way or URL rewriting,

  • The module requires PN v0.764 or higher - as indicated in the system requirements of the module.

  • Quick question here! GoogleSite can be installed in .8 or .8 has it's own rewriting module?
  • The module itself works ok on .8 but some of the plugins don't due to changes in those modules. e.g. news, reviews (i.e. core content modules) have changed to API compliant modules so the plugins that work for .7x don't work on .8x.

An updated version of the module will be available after easter designed purely for .8x. In addition to updated plugins the module will

    1) Create split sitemaps (one per module) to work better with larger sites.
    2) Use the updated sitemaps xml spec
    2) Be renamed sesitemap (search engine sitemap) since it's not only google that supports the sitemap protocol.

  • Thanks Mark, I will wait for the new version to install! I don't mind trying out and testing it if you want me to. I am trying out different modules to see what I will include in my final site. So, for now I am happy to test modules and let you know what I find.
