Categories_user_edit error when using categories  Bottom

    I am just starting to muck around with the categories in .8 RC1 (Latest SVN) and I am getting this error.

        * Error! Sorry! Invalid 'document root' parameter in URL [Categories_user_edit] at line 53 in file C:\xampp\htdocs\xampp\tennis\system\Categories\pnuser.php.


    This only turns up when I click on the link to categories on the front page. I can access the categories module via admin.

    Rather than post a separate thread I thought I would ask few other category related things here - as I suspect they are related.

    When I start using some of the modules FAQ/NEWS etc, there is an option to select a category, however the drop down box doesn't display any options just Choose Category.

    I did go into Categories, and I think I added a new parent categort (but not much else)

    Activate categories is set by default in those modules so I made no changes there.

    And when I switch off the Activate Categories and try an add a new article I get the following error
