Xanthia 2.0 to 3.0 Upgrade Fails  Bottom

  • Hi All,

When attempting to upgrade a Xanthia 2.0 theme to Xanthia 3.0, I'm getting this error:

    Quote

Theme directory must be writable [theme_admin_upgrade] at line 1009 in file /var/www/sites/opencampus/dev/PN800_20070528/system/Theme/pnadmin.php

I'm running the 20070528 SVN snapshot of MS3 and presently the theme directory matches the default themes' permissions, owner, and group (755, 505, and 506 respectively).

    Any ideas?

  • Mark,

When upgrading a theme more permissions are required than when simply using a theme. All theme directories need to be writable by the web server process - the permissions can be reset afterwards. The upgrade process creates a number of new files, cleans up some old ones and makes some changes to others (in particular to the templates).

  • Thanks Mark,

I had previous set my theme directory's permissions to 777, but continued to receive the error. After your posting here it occurred to me to set 777 permissions recursively *throughout* the theme's directory. That did the trick; thanks!
