So how can I help with .8?  Bottom

  • I've been a postnuke user / lurker for many years now.

Lately, all the websites i've created (personal and client) have been on Postnuke .764 (with Openstar libs on top).

I've just found that its so much easier to create custom functionality and full modules using the Openstar / .8 module enhancements.

I want to help get .8 out to the masses and want to know where I can jump in to help get it there.

Docs? Reviewing some code? Boring routine re-coding that Iwoudlnt' mess up the core helping fix? icon_smile

Post some jobs and tasks somewhere, and let me (and others) tackle them as we can. If the task is explained somewhat well, and then can be "checked out" by a community member to complete, I think the community would then be able to give more back as we'd then know exactly what was needed.

The checkout could be as simple as a comment that someone is "taking" that task.

Of course, you'd need a timeline where the checkout was only good for a short time or it was handed off to someone else, or limited to those with some background in the pnforums so they're not flaky icon_smile

This way, the community efforts are driven by the postnuke team, yet the work is done for them! It would take a little time to define and set up a task, but that time would be payed back in the long term as the community becomes more in tune with the core team and is able to contribute more with less "nag" time icon_smile

    Let us help!

PS and thanks for all the hard work!
  • I'm so motivated to help too,
and begin reviewing the core-templates and send a patch...

    in the postnuke-devs mail-list
the need is begin the documentation of a lot of 0.8 details

i think that the NOC can be the 'trunk' of the large of the community
not only of the developers or only download,
and more interaction and full use of the NOC services
can energize a lot the participation of each one in the running projects.
