I find problems with the Search module. I use PN .8 (MS2 & MS3) and PagEd module. The first problem: In the Search administration menu, if I do not tick any "Disable search plug-ins" options (use the default), the search result is a Blank Page with the following warning: Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/xxx/public_html/modules/FAQ/pnsearchapi.php on line 93.
Second Problem: If I disable the FAQ module, the search module produces a result (the searching is okay). But: a) Pages module: all texts of Pages' article appear completely (not only the title but also the body of the Pages' articles), so it creates a long-text page in the search results; b) PagEd module: the links of Page | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | >> doesn't work. If I click number 2, 3, 4 or >>, it returns me to the search form.
The third problem: In the above case (I disable only FAQ module), if I log in as Admin, in the "Filter search by type", the following options appear: Search PagEd Content, Downloads, News Stories, pages, Registered users. But if I log out, only the option of "Search PagEd Content" appears. Is it a permission issue?

The search module was recently completely redesigned, so it would be worth testing the new version. However, it currently isn't backwards compatible, so PageEd will need recoding to work with the new code.
