Who's Online Blocks  Bottom

  • Was wondering, is there any really kool "Who's online blocks"?

I am looking for something that says who is online, and where they are.
  • There is something called pnBloodhound, http://www.soundwebdev.com/Downloads-req-viewsdownload-sid-1.phtml

    - Igor
  • Yea, I already know about bloodhound and have it on another site that I have. I was just wondering if there was anything better or different out there that states how many registered members there are, who's online, and where those that are online are on the site.
  • I use DP-StaffStatus from http://www.dev-postnuke.com

  • I would love to try it, but the site wont let me go anywhere. Even when I google it and try to get it the site tells me.

Fatal error: Smarty error: [in master.htm line 140]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'dpfooter' (core.load_plugins.php, line 118) in /home/postnuke/domains/dev-postnuke.com/public_html/includes/classes/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1095
  • Also there is the OnlineXP block, its very similar to the StaffStatus.
  • See now I downloaded that and did what the install instructions said, and I dont see the Core/Onlinexp block available?

    Quick install guide.

    Upload:

    content of "\images\blocks" to "webroot/images/blocks"
upload content of "\includes" to webroot/includes"

    Install:

Log in as admin, and go to the admin menu.
Enter the Blocks module, and add the core/onlineXP block wich only appears if you have uploaded correctly.

Maybe I am confused on where to put everything. I put everything into the folders located in my public HTML area. Maybe that is not where they are supposed to go? Not sure if that is what is considered "webroot"

  • It shouldn't really say webroot, it should be pnroot. Normally they are the same, but they don't have to be.

    webroot=public_html

pnroot=whatever directory the PostNuke is in. (Normally the webroot).

  • Still nothing. I upload everything everywhere that it says to, but the Core/Onlinexp just isnt there when I try to add a new block. I dont know what I am doing wrong. I am using an FTP to upload all this stuff so it should be working.

  • I just tried it on a live site... works fine. Check your file structure (again).

  • Ok, I found the problem and it is working now. After all that trouble, it looks the same as the regular online block? Is there anything better? Like something that shows where on the site they are, how many registered members there are? Things like that.
  • Anyone know another way to get StaffStatus? When I go to the site, it wont let me navigate through to get it. It keeps giving me an error message.

The English side is broke... And you need to register.

  • Well, I got that one working too, and I really think it might be alittle to much. Any other ideas out there?

So I decided to give Bloodhound a try, installed the module, made the block, and this is what I got in the block.

    Unable to delete existing data
Unable to clear user from DB
    Unable to write location
    unable to write tracking data
Error! Sorry! Bad arguments passed to API function

  • You can turn off some extra stuff in dpStaffStatus IIRC.
