Where are my old news in PostNuke 0.8?  Bottom

  • I've downloaded and installed the last package available at http://community.pos….com/module-SVN.htm but I have a problem I don't know how to solve.

I've uploaded and charged the database of my PostNuke 0.762 blog (more than 2000 articles) but these news don't appear at the homepage and I don't know where they are.

Furthermore, when I try to write a new story, there's a field that I don't understand: 'Category'. I don't know how to create one :(

Is there any document that explains a little bit how it works the categories module?

    Thanks.
  • There is no News module in the core distribution of pn8. You'll need to download the 'ValueAddons' (link available from the same page) and install the News module as you would install every other module. However there may as yet be no upgrade, pn8 is still in milestone status.

That being said, pn8 will likely offer better modules for 'blogging' than a 'News' module. It would likely be worth your time to look into those options and request an upgrade for people who have previously used the News module for a blog.

Anyone have a better insight into blogging in pn8?

    Under Construction!
  • Maybe I didn't explain my problem correctly in the first message of this post.

I know that the News module is into the ValueAddons package, so I downloaded, installed and activated it with the rest of the PN modules. My problem isn't this one.

I've got the module activated and the database charged but I don't know where are the 2000+ articles I've written during the last years. The same database charged into PostNuke 0.762 works fine but with PostNuke 0.800 not.

That's why I think that maybe the problem I've got is related to the management of the categories module.

PS: News module + EZComments are the best way for blogging with PostNuke 0.76x I know. If there's a better solution, please explain it to me.
