What do u guys think of the module 123flashchat released for postnuke?  Bottom

  • Hey,123flashchat is offered by Topcmm Software Corp which was formed in 2001.Through its tough begining and fast development phase, Topcmm has become a integrated development enterprise who endeavours to give its customers topping service both in the product itself and the after sale service. Now, the company achieve to a knife-edge which will decide the future of the company.

    As we know, 123flashchat has its free module for PostNuke which is very decent and friendly useful.To develop the module, we 123flashchat wanna get some suggestions from all of your guys who ever tried 123flashchat before.

    Attention:both praise and criticism are welcome icon_biggrin

  • Well, it requres that flash chat server to be installed. If your site is hosted then you can't use flash chat. It requires a private server or a dedicated server.

    My Work.....

  • Sorry, but I'd never pay that much for a module. Yeah the block may be free but what good does that do without the server? And cutting us off at 10 mins? no thanks. I'll go with pnFreeChat or mFreeChat or if I don't care about running in postnuke just plain phpFreeChat or AjaxIM, all of which are free for all usage.
  • well, I know that what you guys argue most is the fee 123flashchat ask for.I do confess that sometimes we need some free lunch, but I also think that free things are not always that good enough, and the cost of 123flashchat is much cheaper than some other chat software with the coordinative functions.

    Flash chat, u may find it sucks whenever the users in your chatroom exceed to 20. But it is still a good choice for those small website owner.

    pnFreeChat is a good choice, but you will find its interface is not as beautiful as 123flashchat, and it doesnt have supporters which will bothers u after u have installed it while some problems occur to u.

    So u can see what u choose finally depends on your factual condition, am I right? icon_razz
  • If you have a professional site, Beware of 123flashchat.com team people, they are amateurs !!!!

    Step 2): Integrate chat with PostNuke using index.php

    open "Chatconfig.php", you will find:

    $chat_client_root_path = "";

    $swf_file_name = "123flashchat.swf";

    $chat_data_path = "C:/Program Files/123FlashChatServer6.0/server/data/default/";

    set $chat_data_path to your /server/data/default/

    then open "default/server.xml":

    The docs are for .762.
