Hi,
I'm wondering what the implications are of using .8 (pre the final version) on a live site?
For example, are there going to be any more database changes? Obviously these would cause problems in future.
I know everyone is going to say it's unsupported, not advised etc etc. But I'm just wondering... It's such a vast improvement on what I'm using now that it's beginning to look very tempting. There are a few outstanding bugs that are holding me back for the time being...
Thanks -

SVN minus the bugs in the tracker = RC1
So if you can live with the bugs that are in the tracker and the bugs that haven't been found yet, you can already use the SVN version.

OK great
I'll just wait on a couple of the search related bugs.
Well, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their hard work! Especially markwest and drak who chased the bugs I submitted.
Cheers guys... -

I wouldn't advise it, especially as the upgrade from .7x isn't finalised yet, however there shouldn't be any more substantial database changes.

Thanks for your advice.
I've got a test site that I've setup without a problem. Also, due to the number of core hacks I have on my old site, I'm not going to upgrade. Instead I'm doing a clean install, then installing some of the old modules, copying their old tables over, then upgrading them individually
I know I know, it isn't advised. It works though
