I upgraded my website last night and the upgrade appeared to go through without reporting any issues. However, when I try to go to the admin page in explorer it never completes the load. In firefox it gives me an error that the page has been redirected in a way that will never complete.

I moved my .htaccess out of the way in case that was causing problems but it didn't help.

    Any suggestions?

Maybe resetting the theme to ExtraLite with PSAK.

    Igor,

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately that was one of the first things I tried, without success.

For closure on this. It's a case of RTFM I'm afraid. I deleted all files in my PostNuke directories and copied in all files from the new dist. Hey presto everything worked as expected.

It was a fair bit of work copying all of the non-core module files back in place but everything worked in the end.

That is the only way to upgrade by deleting all the old files and uploading the new PostNuke files. It is in the installation help file.

If you leave the old module directories intact they conflict and cause this error. One very good reason to read the manual when upgrading, and to run test upgrades before updating a live site.

    Igor,

RTFM = Read The F***ing Manual. Which clearly I hadn't done terribly well.
