Hi!
I was playing around a bit with Script.aculo.us today. With Sortables to be precise, and I ran into some problems. I need an empty place marker for my sortables.
Reading through the documentation of Script.aculo.us I found a "patch" provided by a user (see http://tanrikut.blogspot.com/). Any change this patch could find it's way into PN?
I'm asking this, because I may actually release a module based on the things I tried today. Sure I can patch my script.aculo.us myself, but that would mean that I have to deliver a core hack with my module, which is a thing I's really like to avoid.

We can't really incorporate third party patches that won't be in the next version of script.aculo.us since we'd have to repatch each time we updated script.aculo.us and maintain the patch through future versions. In the long term, this just isn't practical. You'd be better asking the script.aculo.us people to include it in the main package.

OK I'll do that then. So I can assume, that new versions of script.aculo.us will find their way into PN core whenever a new version of PN comes out?

As a general rule we keep all 3rd party components (adodb, prototype, script.aculo.us etc.) up to date. The latest script.aculo.us, v1.7.0, is already in SVN. I note that this patch hasn't been produced for this latest version so couldn't be added anyway.....
