Can anyone help we are getting almost daily attacks on our forum with masses of hyperlinks posted here is just an example, I would be interested to find out how we can stop this as some have been porn related.

You can easily control that through the admin panel...You can set your forums permitting only registered users to being able to post or reply to threads...
I left pnphpbb and moved to pnforums.... It is API compliant and fully templated. All the permission schema are controlled through postnuke...
Pnphpbb uses its own cpanel etc, however it is a great forum with lots of features that pnforum doesn't have...
