  Does anyone know of a current and free IRC Chat module for PN? The only one that i have found that works with irc is pnCopilot, but it requires a commercial license. Is that what PN used back in the day?

  I have one I used to use on my gaming site, it's not an actual module but it is easily wrapped into the site. Shoot me an email of you want it and I will package it up.

  No sorry, it's just a WebIRC client written in Java.
  I used ldf at the time to wrap it into the site.

  The only thing i can think of that there aren't any good webchat modules out there, specially to implement in a system where the usernames are being used. That IRC has some restriction.
  
  IRC is actually text-only, in ISO-8859-1, and not all these systems are using that charset. Then it's possible to register nicks that are known as invalid characters on IRC. Nick aren't allowed to start with a number.
  
  I must say, it's a real mis to have a good chat-module.. Would be cool if there would be a wider more flexible profile where you can fill in date of birth, gender, hobbies and interrests, occupation, etc..etc.. Create a cool community with some sort of buddy/friends system..

  I had pnCGIIRC working on a .750 site and it was quite nifty - haven't tried it on later versions as there hasn't been the need for it - but may be worth while digging it up and trying it out to see if it flys...

  Hmm, it seems that you didint see the question of this post clearly. MACscr asked zbout free chat module.
  What I mean is that 123flashchat offers free chat module which acts as a bridge between postnuke and its software. Its software is commercial, but you can see it is awsome, and worth it.
