You described it correctly, but I could not view the source of your pages to look for an extra authid as an anonymous user. I _think_ no auth id is there, but can not be sure.

AFAIK, the PostCalendarblock and News Feed do not use forms (like the other blocks you descrive), therefore not generating conflivting auth id's. So that's no problem.

Thinking about this, is the Poll block using an auth-id in its voting form? Did not even check that.

You shouldn't choreograph user actions, it should work out of the box. No idea, hope that someone else is able to help here.

I don't know the answer to your question about whether the Poll block uses an auth-id in its voting form. What I do know is this:

I have been receiving complaints from users who, after selecting an answer to the poll question and clicking on the vote button, are directed to a page that says 'You are not authorized to carry out this operation'. They say, though, that if they try to vote a second time, the poll works just fine. I have tried this myself and have independently confirmed that what they are telling me is true. I think many will just give up and not try to vote a second time, and the error will caste suspicion on the entire CMS.

Can someone help us resolve this issue??

Can you try adding a couple of files from our SVN repository. I've just added a couple of fixes for this issue.

    includes/pnSecurity.php and includes/blocks/poll.php.

Bear in mind that these fixes haven't been extensively tested so please keep an eye open for other issues that may result from the application of these patches.

I will test them today, the problem I have is that when members select to vote on the frontpage, after clicking the "vote" button, they are directed to the page where all the previous votes are and the current one rather than being directed to the results for the current vote.

I asked this long time ago but Simon said, my files maybe corrupted or something but that isn't the issue because the same thing occurs on many PN sites that I have seen so far. So, this is a problem with the voting system.

    Bad_Dude,

That should be fixed too. There was a poorly formed URL present in the block code.

If you've grabbed the block file prior to this post then please get the file again as I accidentally left a line commented out (the one that set the flag preventing re-voting). Usage of the earlier version will allow unlimited voting.

    Apologies for that oversight.

Unlimited voting is not good. I grabbed the latest block file, no problem. Thanks!!

Also, I can confirm that the redirection issue Bad_Dude is referring to has been resolved. Thanks again!!

Okay, here's is one of those other issues that may result from the application of these patches.

The blocks on both the left and right side redraw now each time a user clicks on a link to another page. Before these patches, only the center block would redraw. The site seems choppy and not nearly as smooth now.

I'm sorry. I mispoke. The problem was with my server, not the patches.

Hmmm when I downloaded the two above files, they messed up my entire site so I had to remove them. First of all, Mark; why the files have different extensions, aren't they suppose to be .php instead of .htm. When I added the poll.php, it entirely removed my right blocks, and exchanging pnsecurity.php give me this error.

    Code

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/afghanem/public_html/includes/pnSecurity.php on line 1

Hmmm I am running post-nuke .764 with AutoTheme.

Hmmm that maybe the problem but I will test it on a xanthia site.

After looking at them, they are very different. How come?

I have seen this with useres trying to register, especially if you have the anti spam question set up.

    Howdy,

Well you all answered the question as it relates to the Poll feature but what about when people are trying to register on the website? I have about 800 plus people that are going to be trying to register on my website an a lot of them are telling me that they get this error when they try to register..

I would appreciate any assistance in getting this squared away...

    Regards,
