    Hello All,

I was looking though a couple dozen different blogging software and am unable to determine just which one is capable of performing the tasks I require.

I would like to set up a site thats pretty simple, I would like it have small posts, a single image thats restricted to 100x100 pixels, a link to a URL, and a small description. Much like Dumpalink.com or CelebrityHoneys.com. Only I would like readers to be able to register and submit links with descriptions, an image, and a URL and allow me to approve of it.

So far I have not been able to determine whether or not PostNuke would be able to set up such a site. If anyone knows whether it is capable or not of doing so, or may be able to suggest software that can, I would greatly appreciate it.

It is definately capable of doing that using the Pagesetter module (a new publication type has to be written), except for the image dimensions restriction. You need another module (Mediashare) for that, but that make it a bit too complicated IMHO. Since you require approval anyway, let the users upload their image and resize it manually when approving the submission is the best way for now I think.

However, you need some basic Smarty / PHP knowledge to create your custom Pagesetter publication type. Do not expect your site up and running within a day or a week. Pagesetter is powerfull, but a big forest with a lot of trees for new users. Read the manuals and forums thoroughly and you'll accomplish allmost exactly what you wish for.

    Thanx pnHelper,

I appreciate the quick reply, I was hoping for a simpler preProgramed software to accomplish the tast, but will definitally keep PostNuke in mind. So far its the only software I have found that can do what I need, I know there are a whole hell of a lot more software that can but noticed that PostNuke was available with GoDaddy for automatic instillation.

    Thanks again for your help!
