  • Hello all,

I am almost ready to release a microbiology textbook http://www.microbiologytext.com that I have developed using PostNuke and a module I wrote, the Book module. I wrote the book because I wanted to take advantage of web technologies and was getting disgusted with the high cost of classic microbiology textbooks ($150). This was about a 2 year effort and I plan on charging a subscription fee of $30. Users will pay via paypal and then are automagically added to a group with permissions set for complete access to the book.

My concern is that students/readers will try to cheat and share a username, thus costing me a subscription fee. My hope is that this is not a big problem and that most students will be honest. However, if I find that most people are not paying, is there a way to prevent more than one computer or person using a username? From looking through PostNuke, it looks like pnSession may have some useful functions. I just wanted to see what people thought, or if people think this is even worth doing.

    Thanks

    Tim
