I really like the structure of the 0.8 version with core and add-ons. I think PN is developing in the right direction. I do have a question though.
What core modules can I safely strip away without losing any required functionality?
I assume that the AuthLDAP and AuthPN modules can safely be stripped away, since they are not installed. But what about Workflow, ObjectData, etc. Basically I would like a minimalized bare bones PN system that can be used to build specialized - "single-function" websites, without losing the connection to PN (ie upgrades and code-fixes will still work)

Excluding the AuthLDAP, AuthPN, Admin_Messages and legal modules everything in the system directory is interlinked together, so you should keep it all intact. The core of the system should not be touched, all you gain from stripping this down is a fraction of the 5MB that the system directory takes up.
