I have been trying to learn how themes work by editing one of the core themes to my liking. The theme I started with is Piterpan V2. After several edits, my admin messages are no longer being displayed and I do not know why. I have been through all the settings and the admin messages are turned on.
Also, I could use some general help on learning how to create and or edit themes. I would like to change the mainmenu to an expandable folder style. I would also like to be able to apply a different color to the mani menu header than to the menu items. There are menu styles defined in the style sheet but I do not see where I can change things with in the menu, all I see is the area in the master.html file where I can specify a style for the entire menu but not seperate menu items.
Any help would be appreciated.

(PiterpanV2 is not a core .8 theme... )
Normal theme design only puts center blocks into the home.htm template.
Code
<!--[$centerblocks]-->
Usually, the Admin Messages are in the center block.
Assuming you have both of these things going, it should work.
NateWelch.com (Dynamenu) for your menu.
(Let us know if you posted in the wrong forum, or you are using .8, thanks)
