I've just upgrade my site from .750 to .764.
The site upgrade seemed to work ok (i.e. no errors were reported) and the user bits of the site work OK. Unfortunately I can't get into the Administration panel. I get the error:
"Error! Sorry! A problem was encountered while loading items" and the message:
magic_quotes_gpc is Off in the Administration Panel.
The only non-standard modules that are installed are pnTresMailer and UpDownloads and they were both OK under .750.

Try running the upgrade script again - checking that you have the correct admin module directory uploaded. Did you follow the instructions exactly and remove all your .750 files prior to running the upgrade?

I renamed the whole directory and installed clean. All I copied back were the config.php etc files and the third party modules I use, pnTresMailer and UpDownloads, before I ran the upgrade script.
'll try your suggestion and report back.
Thanks

Sorry, running the upgrade script again made no difference.
It's strange, the site seems to work OK and I can invoke many of the admin functions if I enter the URL directly (haven't tried them all because I don't know the URLs and can't work them out).
It only seems to be the Administration page, so either it's a problem with the template used for the Admin page, or it's a problem with the Admin module itself.
I tried disabling all the modules I don't actually use (had to enable some of them for the upgrade).
Would it do any harm to repeat the upgrade process entirely? i.e. re-copy all the files. Wuld I need to re-run upgrade.php?
