I will then upgrade to latest version of PostNuke(.764) allthough unsupported on MySql 4.0.x.
Next question:
The manual of PostNuke describes the upgrade procedure.
Step 2 tells me which modules needs to be initialized and active, but i fear some of those modules are not installed on my system since they are not listed in the along with the other modules.
The missing modules are:
Censor, Mailer, pnRender and Xantia.
Does this pose a problem during the upgrade of PostNuke? -

No, these are newer modules and they are a major part of the upgrade, so you will have them when done.
It is of utmost importance that you backup everything before such a large upgrade.
