Downloads 2.1. What have I done?  Bottom

  • Upgraded my downloads module to downloads 2.1 from cmods a few days ago. Very good, Very nice, Very happy.... icon_biggrin , but, when I have installed into the different directories I have got something wrong. Everything works fine the only reason I know there is a problem is this section of code which is displaying on the search module page,

    _DL_SEARCHINCLUDE

    _DL_SEARCH_UPLOADER: _DL

    cheers
  • I don't use DL2.1 so I can't tell you exactly where to look, but this looks as if you are missing some language defines somewhere. When this happens to me, my approach is to start by doing a search on the module locally for _SOMETERM in order to determine where it is defined (usually a global.php file in a lang directory) and then checking my functioning distribution to make sure that the file is there and in the correct place.

  • Hello again Peter, when you say to look for _SOMETERM, would I be right in guessing that _SOMETERM would be, in this case, the specific define/s being displayed on the page as mentioned in original post?
Also, as this problem has only cropped up since I upgraded the downloads module to 2.1, would it be safe to assume that I can limit my search to the downloads module directory?

Thanks Peter, one last Question, don't you love the way you answer 1 posted question and when you come back it's got three in its place? icon_lol

    Yes.

Yes. With the caveat that it is nice to know if it is referred to or used elsewhere before you change it.....(And any decent text editor should allow you to search multiple files at once so it shouldn't be hard to search the entire PN distribution.....)

    Kinda fun.

I'm coming up on 2 years here this winter. Started with little beyond some basic HTML experience and have enjoyed the steady stream of challenges and new things to learn - and the folks here who help out.

It's nice for me now to be able to do some helping myself.

The single most useful thing for me was making a local install where I could experiment with no risk. Nothing like taking things apart and breaking them to figure out how they work!
