I know there are modules for things like subscription to a site using a PayPal mechanism, but what to do when the registration/membership is not completely based on paying a fee?
Conceptually, if a PN site has the default anonymous, admins, and users group/permissions, is there an easy way to always gather info regarding membership privileges from off-line (i.e., traditional in-person or regular mail) sign-up?
The X-User package from a while back seemed to allow adding required fields that would work, but the most recent seem to be at least 2-3 years old and that spells trouble in my view, since there are likely several changes in 0.762 which would get broken, etc.
Please post comments/ideas and I'll revisit when I get the posting notice.

I had this same problem man,but in the end i had to pay for a decent subscriptions module,check my subcriptions link out on my site its at the top left.
