I have made this request a couple of times over the years. But nothing has happened.

PostNuke needs an effective mail manager that keeps the registered users email address in check. I would like to see batch processing for each day of the month. The first 300 members are sent a reminder or newsletter that also serves to check problem email boxes. Bounces then flag the users account giving them a susspended status until they return and reactiviate their account with a new email address. The susspended users are sent the following month a account reactivation link. If this bounces the members account is prepared for closure. My main point here is that members contributions in the forums and other site features are preserved. Otherwise the forums will loose chunks of content and ruin them.


What's brought this on is that I have over 9000 registered members on my PostNuke driven site. I am unable to send newsletters because there is a percentage of membership registered email addresess are causing too many bounces.

This is a major failing with PostNuke that it does not have in place a mailing script that processes or handles the bounces.

We urgently need a mailer module that can handle updating the membership as well as mass mailing newsletters that give members the option to opt out of the newsletter.
