Books Module Help (Will Pay if Needed)

Firstly, in the .htaccess, the added files should not be at the bottom, but at least above the generic module rules. Placing them above the PNphpBB2 rules should be OK.
Second, make sure you have the dollar signs in both files, since on this forum they have been stripped out due to safety filters.
I have given you all the info you need. An upgrade to the next books module is suggested by jmvedrine, I would follow that. Further customisation of your postnuke installation should be done by trial and error.

I'll try moving the lines in htaccess then.
I have decided not to upgrade the books module at this time, the customisation that I have done will all be lost.
I'll probably end up asking someone to completely write a custom module for me - I can't ever see this working with books.
