All the links in the main menu of my site now have .phtml extensions. I can't log in without a hack.
I tried changing user.php to user.phtml, but it seems to send information to user.phtml, and then goes to user.php. I can successfully log in only by having 2 idential copies of user, one with each extension.
Is there a setting somewhere that I'm suppoed to toggle between PHP & phtml?
I did a bunch of searches on this, but couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance for your help.

if your urls end up with .phtml you enabled so-called short urls within the template engine. you need to make sure to place the corresponding .htaccess into the server's root...

Thank you for your help, but I have no clue what you are telling me. I can't find any support documentation on short urls. I didn't changed any settings in any theme engine when I upgraded, and I can't even find any such settings in any of my admin panel modules. Where do I find what to put in the .htaccess file? Did you mean server's root, or in my PostNuke's main directory? I've searched everywhere on this website and can't find anything that actually explains what is happening, so I'm not sure why my site is giving me such unique problems.
Thank you again for your assistance,

The .htaccess file you need is in modules/Xanthia/pndocs/shorturls/phtml/.
