I left the PN scene for about a year, I come back, and nothing works anymore. All the 3rd party commercial I bought from Magick's portalzine site no longer work. Even the plain jane progress bar hack and shout boxes no longer work. My searches on google and the threads in *this* forum are providing nothing but dead/outdated links. Is postnuke still alive?
frustrating.....

Is postnuke still alive?
Absolutely! The fact is, PostNuke is very much alive and it's the lack of updates and development by some third-party developers to maintain compatibility. PN has recently undergone some massive improvements -- many of these improvements are security measures, which have created a need for some rather old modules and blocks to be updated.
As I understand it, the Portalzine stuff has been pretty much abandoned and the developer has moved on to other projects. That's what I've heard through the grapevine, anyway.

Try checking out http://www.postnukedirectory.com/, there are a lot of mod/blocks that work there.

That site appears to be dead. Any good sites where I can download cool mods like portalzine used to offer? What stinks is I paid a monthly membership fee to get all those mods, now theyre all worthless. Maybe someone has updated them?

Yup just a bad link, postnukedirectory.com is still a great site.
That being said it seems unmaintained (by only a few months) and I'd like to get a hold of the webmaster (left them a PM) to update my own module there (RosterMaster)... anyone recall who is the webmaster there?

shamrox,
I'd looked at the portalzine modes years ago - .723/.726 era - and even then he was moving away from supporting postnuke.
How long has it been since you've used them?
What modules in particular are you looking for to work? There are replacements available, and many of us use plugins (custom coded with snippets here and there) in Xanthia to perform a lot of the little block / core hacks that PN used to need.
Perhaps a list of what you'd like to do, and then people can share what they do to get the same effect.

Hey Rick,
The Webmaster is Rixride , I have sent a PM to him about my own site link forever ago, and did not receive a reply.
