Formicula Issue, not receiving form  Bottom

  • ok installed Formicula, set up the form for my needs.
when ueser fills out all info required, then clicks on submit
it goes to the completed page showing some of the info submitted (how I have it set)
    and provides the follwoing footnote:
Confirmation of your submission will be emailed to you in a few minutes. Function send in module Formicula returned

problem is, the the email listed in the contacts section is not getting the forms that
    are being submitted
  • *bump*
  • *bump again..sheesh no help?
  • Is your mailer module working? Did you test it?
Maybe a rhetorical question, but the mail-address has been set correctly?

I don't know what version you use, but maybe switching to formicula 1.0 helps, then we all know that you run the latest code.

  • ok the email address is set correctly and I am new to PN so not sure what you mean
by Mailer module? is that a core module? and I am on Formicula 0.4 (thats the most
recent download I could find) will install 1.9 while I await a response

ok. not knowing I could just upload, and do an upgrade. I removed everything and then
did a fresh install of 1.0 and for some reason it wont initialize..any suggestions?

  • The Mailer module indeed is a core module. You cab find it in the Admin panel. Here you can set the various mail options, and it includes a test function to test your settings. Be sure you receive a mail from that test option.

Do you have any error messages on top of the admin panel on your screen when you initialise?

  • when I go to initialize, and it doesnt work, it states at the top: Could not Create Table

a test from the mailer module works and has the following settings :
    Default Mail trnasport: phpmail
    Default character set: iso-8859-1
    Default coding: 8bit
    Default Content: text/plain
and all the other appropriate settings...
  • You get this error if the table already exists. I think something went wrong with upgrade or removal of the Formicula module.

Try removing the module from the modules list in the admin panel, and then regenerate the list. This will loose all your contacts, hope it are not too many. Then try to initialise again.

If this doesn't help, try accessing your database (using phpMyAdmin or something) and see if the table 'formcontacts' exists. If so, drop it and try to install Formicula again.

  • ok removing the module and regenerating worked, but not sure why it didnt work before when I did it earlier.
anyways. So will be moving forward with testing the form in default to see if it works and will post results
    and move forward from there
  • ok, when I go to use the default form1 I fill out each mandatory field and then click
submit and get sent to the following page that says:
There is an error in your form

    Back to Contact Form

Function send in module Formicula returned.

now in the configuration settings, the only thing I have
    checked is:
    -show URL
    -show comments/text box
    -send confirmation email to user
    -delete file after sending
    ** spamcheck is not activated

also I need to know how to edit the current default forms..or can I just use an
existing HTML form that I already have?
    I

  • Needless to ask... but you have filled in proper values for the mandatory fields (like valid email address)?
