Pagesetter  Bottom

  • I have loaded Pagesetter onto my site with the intension of using it as a food/recipe database but am unsure as to how to set-it up. Need various g=catergories for Meat, chicken etc and within that the recipes.

    Any ideas?
  • All i can say is good luck. Pagesetter is pretty powerful, but you have to have a lot patience to learn how to use it. I have never been able to get any of my projects to work nicely with it. After so many hours of working with it, i would usually give up and move onto an alternative.

Read MANUAL. It will take a little time - but really it is worthwhile.

I agree. The manual is quite descriptive and you may find yourself reading it several times, but once you get a grasp of Pagesetter, it will blow your mind. I would also suggest you visit the elfisk.dk forums for further assistance.

In a nutshell, you first create the structure for the page you need and then customize the display templates (much like you would a Xanthia theme). You can also customize the input forms, but that is much more advanced. You will likely want to find some existing Pagesetter templates/workflows and study them first (check out http://www.pagesetter.net). In fact, there may already be some templates/workflows available for a recipe database, or maybe you can find something similar to modify to your needs.

Or you can hire a guy to set it all up for you. ;)
