EverQuest guild site add in? And questions about PN  Bottom

  • First off I hope I am posting in the right part of the board.

I am looking for a clan type add in configed for an Everquest type site. It must allow listing for alts as well as mains for members of an open star/pn site (Basicly members must be able to add and maintain a list of chars they have in a clan/guild). I already have my site configed to be able to use open star add ins as I am useing your ver of postcalendar. I am also at present useing PN Clan site. The clan mode I have at this time is nothing close to what I need as it only allows a member to list 1 char. I know very little about this kind of stuff for say to go into files and remove the added fat I have no need of, but to add into it to allow members to list more then 1 thing I was lost the second I opened the files so I left it alone. I have also looked at vwar but it has to much added fat in it lol.

I have used yahoo, google and ask to only find closed sites or junk for PHP-nuke. I really don't want to be forced to change the site around as I already had to change providers and do not wish to mess with my users.

    Needed:
    Roster list
Users must be able to add more the 1 listing
Users must be able to have basic edit functions to their listed char(s)
To have other guilds be able to apply for alliance (with out sign up to site)
To be able to list alliances
I must be able to add users to adminastration functions
Would like it all to be incorperated into the database used by the site (vwar uses its own)
A way for my admids and myself to show a listing of raid points and such on each member of the sites char

I at current use PN clan site but it has no were near what is needed. I need something writen for EQ. Only leads I have gotten are to sites that are closed or seem to have no download links to said PN mods. I would be most greatfull for any assistence that can be profided. Thanks so much in advance.

Also if anyone can advice me on somehting, it seems on my site when users sign up they are not put in the right user group, as a matter of fact they are not places in a group at all. again thanks so much for any help provided in advance icon_wink

  • RosterMaster(PostNuke) Should serve some of you're purpose.

Although I can't find the release notes I had at one point I'll tell you what it does here.

It functions by hitting your everquest guild roster website and parsing out the data which is then stored to your postnuke database. Any changes in the attributes or character info is logged into a csv file which the module renders for your viewing pleasure.

Users with the correct permisions can then associate or 'claim' the characters with thier postnuke profile. They are also given the option to select weather the character is a main, alt or utility char.

It's fully configurable to display anywhere from 2-all columns of character attributes... including user avatar. The display is also sortable by 2 indexes in either direction as well as being reverse sortable by clicking the column headers.

The administration end of it has more options than I can list ATM, but since I had no feature requests for it I tried to incorperate as many features as I could.

Also, pretty much API compliant and uses pnRender for templating as well as being extensivly permissioned.

See the docs folder for more info before installing since you'll need some info before trying to use it, if you're running 076x then the info is added during the interactive init.

So all it's missing from your list is alliances and raid points, both of which should be seperate modules anyways for which hooks or plugins could be used to display the info together.

I have an updated version almost ready but I don't have access to the hard drive it's on (insert self berrating mumble regarding backups). This used to be a money issue but has become a time issue.

I will be using pnclanmods.com for that release and others that I started for EQ2 (on the same hard drive).

Let me know if that works for you.

Edit- See it in action (though slightly upgraded) at my guilds (beta)website. Also, notice the block.

  • That does not work for me friend. My guild is not EverQuest 2 it is An EverQuest 1 guild. It checks eqplayers2.com guilds not eqplayers.com. the idea would be nice and work very well if it had the option through start up to handle both games.

I know this may be a tall request but maybe add a bit of option into that to pick eq1 or eq2. From what I could see of it for PN it seems to be most of what I want. I really do hope ya can get access to your update icon_smile .

It's very good work indeed only wish I knew how to do this kind of stuff so I could have edited what I have rather then be a bother icon_biggrin

Other note on this I seen 1 mod listed in the mods list but it was linked to a broken link. http://community.pos…tid-11-pid-1718.htm Maybe someone can point me to were that is passably hosted now of days? icon_biggrin . Still would rather an EQ1 ver of RosterMaster lol.

  • Ooohhhh... you mean people actually still play EQ1? /laugh /JK I actually have a couple of friends still laying EQ1 and my bro keeps my toons there active for me.

A tall request it may be, but one I had already made to myself... the idea being to abstract the code to allow for any kind of roster for any kind of guild, you'd haveto manually add the attributes as well as characters since there is no online auto roster for EQ1. I have actually started that but it's no more than a frame ATM (as well as inaccessable to me).

The other mods you mention date back to 2003 and are not API compliant at all, also if I recall correctly they were in need of upgrade before the then current version of postnuke had been upgraded.

  • lol Indeed surpriseing that one still plays eq1 but eq2 turned into a nightmare for me lol. as for no eq1 auto roster that is not correct. http://www.eqplayers.com or my guild roster on eqplayers (the reason why your mod prosented a great deal to me when I found in my searches the non PN mod) http://eqplayers.sta…uildId=468151435740.

My question now would be is it passable for me to have this mod read from the eq1 players site (basicly grab my guild roster off that link and place it in a rostermaster list and basicly still have the functions for my site members to claim there chars? If so how do I do it? Is it a big migrain? lol I am willing to try it myself with some detailed instructions in laymens terms. The idea is perfect and would give my guild members less of an excuse not to claim there chars lol.

Thanks a lot for all the time you have given me so far and I hope it is not to much of a bother as well as I hope I am not to much of a pain. My only wish here if for my site to have something easy for members to deal with rather then something of a mod my members bearly touched lol. icon_biggrin
