If by 'nothing happens' you mean you get a Blank Page, you might try checking the section about blank pages in the Wiki as a start.

i actually get the msg 'logging you in' and then i am directed back to the index.php (and not a Blank Page ). I think that there is a problem with the cookies (since i get cookies must be enabled to pass this point) but i must say that both firefox and ie that im currently using accept cookies from websites....why not PN?
ps: i installed PN in my laptop which runs the same webserver (same settings) and it works just fine!! -

After you get the logging you in message and then bump back to the index.php page, what happens if you simply refresh your browser page? (That is, is it possible you *are* logged in but are seeing a page stored in cache from before the log in?)

I get the same problem - refresh doesn't help - even when forcing it to avoid the browser cache.
Hmmm... to clarify - I'm using PHP 5.2.0 on Apache 2.2. PHP seems to test fine as does DB connectivity. I also seem to get the POSTNUKESID cookie created and I've got no reason to believe it's not being dished up on request

I have a very similar probem. I posted with the title 'Administration panel will not Open' (or something very similar). Anyway it's a few posts down (on the most recent posts list) from this post.
I'll be interested to see if you get a resolution. I haven't yet. I wonder if the most recent PostNuke download has not been there long - A few people are getting similar errors to me having installed recently.
Mike
