Guys, its not a secret that after going live a website needs some advertising to attract people and this may be costly, but what i suggest we could do is to put each others` small banners on our pages (for free of course) so that people who come to, say, my page could see your links as well. I know that those of you who have well-established websites with lots of visitors every day dont need that but im not insisting on it. So im just offering anyone who could put my banner 88x31 on his page to put his banner on mine (not forever of course :)) I think this will help small and new websites to attract more visitors and make them more popular. This forum seems to me the best place for this message as we all here are webmasters and may want to advertise our websites. So what do you think?

Andrew, honestly, that rarely works, Trying to link to disparate websites leads to very low click through ratio's.
I would aggressively market your target audience . Google, Yahoo, Craigs List even, Search simliar message boards see if they offer spam sections, Write relavent articles and post them on the internet, join already active message boards and have a link to your board in your signature. You can sometimes get curious visitors who stick around awhile or like your idea and want to be part of it. Just don't promote blatenly on other sites.
You will get far more visitors that way then a link on a non-relavent website.
Just my .02 but good luck however you accomplish it. There are link-referral sites you can join. And trade links per say, there are a ton of them so good luck!
