Hi,

ive tried to check the most recent version .8MS1...
fresh install on a fresh webserver and a fresh clean database.

install script ran through without any problems.

when i go to administration i see all icons as usual

BUT

ALL functions except Admin/Settings to through this:

and thats all.

no chance for modules Users Admin Messages whatever... nothing works.
i already checked the modules state - all are on 3...

is there a fixed version available?

Clean install I assume? I have installed MS1 on a few sites with no problems, at least not like that. Have you tried pulling a more recent nightly build?

Grab a new package via Subversion (with TortoiseSVN or whatever tool you like)...

that did it. i fetched the nightly build and it worked!
only issue i had was that - when regenerating module list - the modules module has pn_state 5 and not 3 anymore. however, now everything works so far.

one last question: is there already a german language file for pn8 ?

useless. why not just saying that there is no german lang pack? however, .8 looks nice and i apreciate that modules is now sorted and not mixed with system modules anymore. i dont like that the only way to get out of an admin-module is to press back in the browser. in .7 branch u had always a link back to the admin console. ;)

however nice work so far. any estimate when its get to RC?

He may not have known the answer, just where to find it. We don't always give you the fish, sometimes we help you catch it yourself. When there is one, that is likely where you will find it.

Actually, only modules coded with a link back to the admin panel had a link back to it. Most modules admin areas, if properly templated, should keep the tabs at the top of the page. Not all of them do (Pagesetter) but alot do.

Exactly put. And I do maintain a SVN for the french translation of the 0.8 so I assumed that there was a possibility that the PN-cms.de were doing the same.

yeah, i asked for a possibility. and hoped that someone knows where to get it (official or unofficial maybe private made by one who needed a localized version too, im not a friend of reinventing wheels). i dont eat fish - i prefer accurate answers to cook my steak. :)

BTW: it seems that nightly builds exists, why not refering them in the download database? same to langpacks. why not refering even dev builds here at a central point so ppl dont have search all thinkable URLs. www.postnuke.com is the classic station for getting information about postnuke since years. decentralization does not work as it seems. ;)

halbrook, sure 3rd party modules are not ur or PNs biz but i did talk about PN core modules. ;)

In german we usually call this "Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe" (help to help yourself) - we want that our users learn how to get the information they need .

As a roundup: Currently there is no official german language pack for .8 but there will be one with the final release. As stated before several times the MS1 is a technological preview for interested developers and users and should not be used in live sites, see http://support.pn-cms.de/Article847.htm

We have a germandocs project up and running on NOC that contains some files but they are not recent. If you want to submit translated language files, feel free to contact pnteamATpn-cmsDOTde.
