Hi,
I have just installed PostNuke-Phoenix-0.7.2.3 on my site. I had some initial trouble with the databases but the site seems to be working ok now.
Two small probs. though:
1. I don't have any forums? do I have to activate them somewhere or do I need to install a seperate module??
2. I have set the time zone to GMT and the local time format to en_uk but my time is still out by -5 hours??
Anyone got any quick fixes please??

yes, you do need to install a separate mod... larsneo does a phpbb 1.4 mod that integrates completely with PN .7xx. There is also a phpbb2 mod that is also listed in the modules section of PostNuke although it's not integrated into the PN permissions system which kind of makes things not so easy... check them out, figure out what's best for your needs... both are very easy to install.

I think (but I'm not sure) but I believe that that the time stamp comes from your server.... so if you're with a host, then perhaps you want to check with them about the server time stamp. -

Well I am already running another similar site using phpbb with the same isp, at www.talkathletics.co.uk and that is seeing the time settings correctly. -
where are you looking to set your time from... I think that -5:00 is Eastern Time in the US... is that what you intend to set it for?
-
No, I am in the UK and so it needs to be GMT. My other site uses the "fully moded" version of the script and in the admin section there is only one setting to change and it is set to GMT and as I say is working fine.
In this version there are 2 settings to make - "time zone offset" which is set to (GMT) Western European .........etc - and Locale time format, which is set to en_uk.
However, the time is still showing -5hrs to what it should be which as you quite rightly point out is Eastern US ?? -
Now that's weird - as an experiment, I have just changed the time zone offset to (GMT -5.00hrs) and it is now showing UK time correctly. That doesn't make - sense does it??
Anyway, it's working OK now, but I wonder if that's a bug that bears futhre investigation, or am I missing something obvious? :? -

Sorry to sound thick here but who or what is "larsneo" what is the mod called, and where exactly can I download it?

*smile*
larsneo is me - the phpBB_14 can be found here

Good Stuff Larsneo - sorry that I'd never heard of you but I have now. Thanks for the link - I'll try it now :D

Well, it was very easy to install the forum module, but a couple more questions arise:
1. The appearance is totaly different to these forums (standard phpbb look) is that configurable or is it like it is and thats that?
2. I have created and activated a block that shows the forum stats, but that is the only link from my front page to the forums. Can I get a normal text link to come up in the modules or main menu list? -
I've sorted the main menu out, easy for others reference, simply go to blocks in admin menu and click on edit next to the main menu block!!
My other question still stands though, ie:
The appearance is totaly different to these forums (standard phpbb look) is that configurable or is it like it is and thats that? -
This forum is a phpbb2, but it's operating under a still developing technology that is not available yet. :(
