  • Hi guys,

First, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, to tell you the truth, this whole thing is a bit overwhelming, and any help you can give is appreciated.

Here's my situation. I just got a domain name along with a hosting site. My hosting site came with the option to install PostNuke, which I did. As you can see, it looks pretty bare boned:

Now I want I need help on these three questions:

    1) I want to add a theme. Do I need to download and install Autothemes to do this? Is there any major difference between the light version and the full version (pay version)? I know how to do HTML stuff but no other programming skills, it sounds like this AutoTheme thing is the way to go, correct?

    2) What's the difference between "Blocks" and "Modules"? I know it's probably a really dumb question.

    3) When I looked at the themes that were listed here (or was it at postnuke.com?) it showed some small thumbnails but no links to where to get them. Where can I find a good list of free themes for post nuke?

Thank you very much for your help, I'm hoping that I don't have to learn to much of a new language to get my site off the ground.
  • Welcome.

To add/install Autothemes, you will need the light version at least of Autothemes installed.

One option is to use Xanthia themes. Several come with PN and if you are comfortable with XHTML and CSS, you can modify/tweak these.

Another option is to pay someone to create a custom theme for you. Serach around here and you should find a number of individuals who would do that.

Modules perform content management tasks and blocks display content from modules. So modules have more to do with actual content and blocks with placement.

PostNukeDirectory is a site that will help you look at and for modules, blocks and themes.
