I've got problems with News module. In index.php/News/ says:
Fatal error: Smarty error: [in news_user_index.htm line 12]: syntax error: unrecognized tag 'recommend' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 580) in c:\appserv\www\postnuke8ms1\includes\classes\Smarty\Smarty.class.php on line 1095

Either install the recommend_us module or remove the tag from the template mentioned in the error message.

Now that the SVN Snapshots section is down, is there any other place I may be able to download the ValueAddons pack? -

Just download the whole nightly build direct from the NOC project page for PostNuke.

HammerHead
Also, you'll find there's no AddStory or Submit_News modules in .8 - you simply visit the 'news' module administration interface.
Dumb question: how can I moderate the user-submitted News? I won't that user can free post news, I need to accept and refuse them!

Arthens,
The submission of news is handled by permissions. So if a user has ADD permissions then the story is posted directly but if they only have COMMENT permissions then the news is held for approval.
Hammerhead's comment about the news submission being via the admin panel isn't quite correct. There are both user and admin submission pages but both are essentially the same thing - just different templates and a few different fields depending on permissions.

I supposed that should be like that, but it doesn't works. I'm going to submit the bug and the fix in the BugTracker.
Another question on the same argument.
Is there any way to put in homepage something (a block?) that notify who can accept the news that there is a new one?

Giacomo,
I've noticed your bug report. The news DB has changed a bit and it looks like the code didn't get updated to match...
For content approval see the pending content module.

Sorry again Mark, but seems that Reviews module didn't use the same method.
Users with COMMENT permissions can't submit new review, only users with ADD permissions can do it.
It's a bug or a choice?
Should be nice, and really usefull, if both module work with the same scheme.
Thanks again.
