I do to, but thats mostly because im not as comfortible with XML yet, but i know things are moving that way, so i might as well.
I just havent been impressed with the user interface. IMHO, it should be completely different than the admins. If i could structure the main menu better and remove it easily when I want to, it would be better. I havent messed with it for awhile though.

Pagesetter needs to be brought up fully to pnRender/pnAPI status. I imagine most of it is pnAPI, but it's not fully templated at the moment, and that is where your concern lies I think.

We are using Pagesetter on the new site for the extensions database section. It works pretty well, and I've added a very nice search function :)

Guppy requires some explanation. It is not meant to replace pnRender and serves a different function. Guppy is and eventbased, XML described form which means you get many benefits like auto validation. It is a matter of tase, some people dont like OO methods at all but for those that are familiar with OO one can more or less configure a program rather than write it.
There are many much methods now in PostNuke's API but they will not be everyone's cup of tea.

A bit more than a year ago when I stumbled across PN, I was only semi-competent in HTML and could do a tiny bit of CSS with a book and cheat sheet on my lap. As a result of my PN addiction, I've had to actually learn some HTML and CSS and have been teaching myself PHP and learning about MySQL and was just starting to knock on the pnRender and Smarty doors.
And now you go and add Guppy and Ajax and OO stuff.
As we say in Maine: wicked awesome. There's nothing like knowing how much more excitement there is down the road.
Now off to brew some more coffee.....

It is not meant to replace pnRender and serves a different function.
However, in Pagesetter, at least prior to the current beta, it came at a detriment to usability, in that there was no way to add text to the form that was not tied to the fields themselves, which is why I said I hope the core Guppy is based on the newer Guppy..

We keep all third party libraries up to date, so as Guppy evolves the PostNuke guppy should too - and in the long term I suspect Pagesetter will switch to using the core guppy.

Would anyone involved have the time to write up what was used to make the new site ? It is itself a great demo of what is possible with PostNuke. -

htmlpages, and that's pretty much it (I wrote a custom Xanthia plugin to pull the title of the page out of the database for the header).
Also used:
Xanthia theme, with caching etc
RSS module from .762

Technically Guppy has been forked from the Pagesetter implementation as a quick look at the code will reveal. It is highly likely that future versions of Pagesetter will use this but it most certainly cant happen until after a stable 0.8 is released.

Of course, at what point did it fork? Before or after the ability to add text to the forms was added :)

not sure what version you're using, but in 2.1 the title is set in a global.. no need to query.
I like the new design for the most part..it's a lot less than I was expecting, but it's clean, quick and has a lot more info. might want to think about adding accesskeys to those top links maybe..
ps: the home page is pretty messed up in Safari .. the main content is below the footer. -

At the bottom of the Features page on the new PN frontend pages, there is a broken link to these forums.
The lower Forums link is pointing at fourms.postnuke.com though the displayed text is correctly spelt
also, there doesnt seem to be anywhere in the new front end any link to the news.postnuke.com site, I realise that if you follow the top links on the forum. mods. links that you can get to the News. site, but I wondered whether the lack of News. link is intentional or an oversite?
Following the News link in the new site leads to News Feeds, not what you expect when you click a link to get news..
Having the new site format showing content mixed over many pages must have pushed up the daily page views, over the last week, you must have noticed a change, I wondered what extra page views has it added per day.
Thanks

I like the New Look.
I'd like dates with the title or teaser in News.
And on the Products page, the Support/Documentation link apparently is not yet connected anywhere.
And perhaps a link in downloads to the PSAK, language packs, etc? AFAIK currently one only finds them by going to Forum and then to the Download Area.
Good work.
