Is there a Block that would allow users to chat while on the site. I'm looking for something that would be displayed where they can see it wherever they go on the site. Kinda like an online chat while on the site, maybe in a block or something. -

Well, there is one, but that is something you need to ask your host if it can be used, those types of things can cause issues on a shared server if they get busy.

Hi:
Well, I use 123_flash_Chat since v2.1. 123_Flash_Chat is a java server - flash client high performance chat solution. This requires you to have admin access to a server. Usually this applies to dedicated or shared hosts.
It is commercial. For example a 100 concurrent users license cost about $299 and includes 1 year free updates. IMO, it is worth the price since it is usuall to have two to three updates per year. Many will find it expensive.
It have a fully functional and supported PostNuke module. I am highly satisfied with this product aftter trying many alternatives. My only complaint is the Video Module is too much expensive ($500).
The company also have developved additional high-end solutions. But for most webmaster needs, I guess the 50, or 100 users license is more feasible.
Here is a tip I received, version 6 is near release.... :)

Even $199 is too much for a hobbyist website. FlashChat is much more affordable solution for those of us that are cheap, I mean thrifty. ;) -

Hi starrbuck:
I am aware it is expensive. But for those that can afford, IMO it is worth the price.
I am not rich. I have been running my web site in red for some time... but perseverance is key for any endeavor... so I keep going.
However, the chat could be key when you are trying to build a web community. Anyway, my intention is to provide additional feedback regarding 123_Flash_Chat from a member of the PN community.

Any chat used will have to be a non-server based solution. (I'm his host ;)) I just had to clarify the situation with my server managers. server based chat systems are potentially too much of a drain on the site, I'm playing with a solution for him now :)
