This might be covered in the 40+ pages of the Dynamenu thread...
I'm using the great DynaMenu block on my SCUK website. Good work Nate.
I'm also using the underlying layersmenu code written by Marco Pratesi on a client's website. We found that the slow response times associated with that during development were down to DynaMenu and implementing a hdd stored cache on a pre-user basis was about to get render times down from 10 seconds per page to 0.1 seconds.
Has any effort been put in to providing a caching mechanism for DynaMenu?
Obviously, the menu you get is based on your permissions, so perhaps cache the menu as a file identified by permissions (rather than on a user basis like mine). On my own SCUK website I have two different menu - one for users and one for admins. That's it. Just two files to cache. The cached files could be deleted when the menus are updated.
Perhaps a possible enhancement that will cut seconds off render times. You're going to tell me it's already done now aren't you? I know I'm using quite an early version of DynaMenu.
