Strangeness on logging in - URL.com/directory/directory

All,
I think this (plus the PNphpBB email oddity I've posted elsewhere) are the last of the issues I've had since upgrading the site from 726 to 762.
The PN site is at <url>.tld/PostNuke
There's a redirector at <url>.tld/index.htm to shove people straight into PN.
Works fine. Always has.
However since upgrading every time people log in they're sent to <url>.tld/PostNuke/PostNuke - and I've had to copy that redirector to there to put them back to where they should be.
Odd, huh? It's not browser specific, either. Happening in IE and Firefox.</url></url></url>
