Custom Members List Module?  Bottom

  • Is there any custom Members list modules out there that someone could point me to? Just curious!

  • Well, there was pnAddressBook by Thomas Smiatek, but that's not been updated in quite a while (since 2003) and doesn't work properly in my 0.761 site. It was supposedly adopted by someone and is in the NOC, but there's been not a lot of observable progress there, either.
  • what exactly you lokking for?

because Members_List is now templated, which makes it alot easier to customize
  • I would like to be able to have pictures of the members in the members_list.
  • use pnAvatar in conjunction with the members list - their avatar (ie, picture they upload or you set for them) is shown in the members list already.

    UHEweb
  • will have to look for that,. I couldnt find it a moment ago. I will look again later.
    Thanks
  • Great thanks!
  • Actually, I reinstalled pnAddressBook on 0.762 site and it's working fine now and that includes a member photo. What I like is the member has control to update their own entry, so it involves less work on my part.
  • What version was that?
  • I have a question: I am looking for a way for members to have more information associated with their profile. I don't understand how pnAddressBook would help with this since it doesn't seem to have anything to do with member registration or profiles. Am I wrong?
  • Someone correct me if I'm wrong since I haven't used it but look for the xUser module. It's one that's on my list to try with a site soon but I haven't had that big a need for it yet.
  • Looking at the documentation, I don't see that xUser provides for additional informational fields for a user. I looked at pnAddressBook, but that doesn't really deal with member information.

I am working on a neighborhood association site and the fields I need are: username, password, title, firstname, lastname, street number, street name, mailing address, city, state, zip, telephone, cell phone, work phone, email, notes, contact by, occupation, employer/business name, resident since, own/rent, paid, block captain zone.
  • The Members_List module is perfectly capable of what your asking for, the tag for the avatar is (within it's sectioned context)

    Code

    <!--[$users[users].user_avatar]-->
And dynamic user data can be called with whatever label you give it when creating it.

    Under Construction!
  • Where can I find a nice template for members_list. The default template doesn't look nice.
    Thanks in advanced.

Copy all the content from /modules/Members_List/pntemplates/ to /themes/yourtheme/templates/modules/Members_List/ and happy editing with those htm files.
