It is not a new site, but we just launched our 06 custom design. It took us a while to get the hang of Xanthia, but once we figured it out, we really like it. I'm pretty excited about it and wanted to share.
GamersRadio.com
We have a few more tweaks to the Radio block, but overall I think it turned out fairly well.

Gallery link gives Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './init.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/grn/public_html/modules/gallery/albums.php on line 35 :(
Other than that the site looks great... although I just couldn't resist. Validation Results... ouch.

Wow, I like the look of it. Nice. How did you get, or what block/module are you using for the scrolling forums block on the right? I have been trying to find something like that for my site. -

Having not seen the firat version of the site I have nothing with which to compare. That being said, the site does have a nice graphic package- everything is consistent and looks pretty good. Though there are no errors there are quite a bit of warnings that should be fixed.
The only real complaint I could voice is that ther's so much darn content on the homepage that it's a bit overwhelming. I understand the need and desire to deliver content and to make sure that the site isn't empty but as it is now everything is thrust on the user with little organization and as sch it's a bit daunting to navigate through.
On a side note this is the major failure of most themes/sites; the reliance on a 3 column homepage and the ability to keep adding blocks wherever there is available space.
Perhaps it's just me but on my 21" monitor if I have to scroll down I consider the site layout and design a flop...
The interviews and gallery menu item are broken, the search menu item though it's a google portal should be integrated rather than free floating, the HTML tags appear allover the place- particularly in the about us section...
Anyway, all my krumudgeoning asside, it does look clean and seems to be a living breathing site.

I guess it's hard to know where we are today without know where we've come from.
http://www.gamersradio.com/index.php?theme=GamersRadioX
Previous to that, http://www.gamersradio.com/index.php?theme=xInhalt
- A few things are not correct because they fit the new theme.
Validation, Ouch Indeed. Old habits break hard. I guess it's time to shore up a few loose ends. Thanks for pointing that out. Gallery has been removed.
Also, keep in mind, this site started with PHPNuke in 2001. I believe it was version 4 or 5. A lot of our HTML is broken because quotes caused a lot of problems in the database back then. It was never an issue until we upgraded to .761 this week. So, now we are going to clean up as much of that as we can.
Organization - Yes, this has been a huge problem for us. We have gone through several excercises trying to narrow our focus, but in the end, we come back to the fact that we are what we are. A Site for Music / Gaming / Maps / Mods. Would you believe this is much improved from years past? I have a new Menu Layout in the works. If you have any suggestions about this, let me know.
The Scrolling Block comes with pnPHPBB2. We just turned it on and configured it.
Maybe I should have said look at our pretty pictures.....
Thanks for the feedback. It's good to get honest criticism so we can improve.

I understand the position you're in with having such a large scope of content. Luckily for me I pretty much only do business sites- mostly closed sites so the delivery of content is very particular...
As for menus... always tricky.
I have pretty much settled on using a horizontal menu in the header. I make an effort to keep the header as tight as possible providing all search/nav stuff there...
Perhaps on your homepage you break down your focus into those 4 areas providing a column for each where the relevant info is displayed... Almost like a portal to 4 sites...
MUSIC GAMING MAPS MODS
new articles new articles new articles new articles
forum forum forum forum
announcements announcements announcements announcements
Ads Ads Ads Ads
I will say that with the ammount of content you have it's not going to be hard to keep the site healthy and robust-it's just a matter of streamlining... There's nothing worse than a site with no content and a massive infrastructure...
Oh and GamersRadio theme generation 3 is indeed an improvement over the past ones!

Thanks Remmington. It's funny you mention the portals. I was actually working on the Smarty implementation to make the sub category news look like the main page. It's not done, but it's close.
I see what you mean about the menu. I'll get with my team and see what we can come up with.
Thanks Again!
