Problem integrating FlashChat with pn761.  Bottom

  • I posted in the FlashChat help forum, and there's already some information on the problem there: http://www.tufat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11822

FlashChat lists PostNuke 7.2.6 in its list of CMSs it can be automatically integrated with (and I previously had it working with a PN installation of that version), but when I try to integrate it with 7.6.1, after it retreives the database information and I hit next I get a "Session could not be initialised." error.

The PostNuke integration file in FlashChat is calling pnInit() in pnAPI.php. pnInit is calling pnSessionInit() (IIRC) in pnSession. This session init function is returning false for some reason.

I'm stumped. The people in the flashchat forum haven't been able to help. In the link I provided above it contains all of my server's session information.

    Please help!
  • Just wondering if anyone has FlashChat working with .0761, my install fails and no tables are made due to the Session initialisation failed error.

Here is another thread about it:

  • I've got it working on my site, I had a helluva time getting it to work though and the people on the FlashChat site were slow as snails to reply to any support questions. :(
  • I used to be an avid supporter of FlashChat, but with recent issues, lack of support and the apparent lack of caring from the developer, I'm rethinking my stance. Hopefully this is a temporary issue, but let's face it -- PN 0.76 has been out for months now and FlashChat installation remains to be an issue.

Needless to say, I am anxiously awaiting the new version of SPChat, which seems to be in active development.
  • Yeah, the service on tufat's site was horrible ... though in the last day or so I have been getting some quick responses. Hopefully it's just life keeping them busy and not a lack of caring.

I did however manage to get Flashchat integrated - not exactly the way I wanted but it's there.
