I've got a website up with PN .761 and among other things PayPalCart 1.5. We're evaluating it to see if it'll work for us and it seems nice but were curious if anyone knew a way to add a product option that, if chosen, would change the price of the item? For example, a computer that was being sold with a certain video card but you could select a higher model video card for more money. -

It's not so much that PayPalCart can't do it, but rather PayPal's Shopping Cart is not set up to do it.
A PayPal Shopping Cart user had some nifty hacks which would do that (among other things) by basically using some fancy javascript to change the price on-the-fly. You might be able to impliment it in PPC... See link in this news post...

Well, if those features were implemented, that would be great. I'm not really looking to get into development work at the moment, just wanting to get a cart that uses Paypal up and running. Besides I trust that Nate (Not sure if that's you or not) seems to know what he's talking about and for me to get up to speed would take too long, time that I don't have.
I am willing to put up some money for it though, definately. I know it's not much but if those features are implemented, I'm willing to donate $50 US Dollars... maybe if a few people can donate something like that it'd mean something. Any other takers?
What I am talking about though, just to be clear, is using one of the Item Attributes (The "Add Product Option" area) in PPC to change the price of the item before it's added to the users cart. Normally it'd pry be used for color selection or something like that, I'm guessing. -

If you want it for the forseeable future, I'd take a whack at it yourself...
You might be able to do something entirely in the templates... I can imagine "embedding" the cost change in the option attribute values (like calling the option "Red|5.00"), then changing the product display template to output some JS to change the price value (both on screen and in the hidden DIV) onChange of the option select... The link in the post above might give you an idea how to do that... Good luck!

Thanks for the info but I have other things that are way more important to focus on. I'll just find a better product - something that can already do what I'm looking for. -

I think you meant to say, "a product more suited to my needs" ;)
