I just installed pnForum 2.6 and it looks absolutely horrible with grey tacky icons and no table outlines or borders whatsoever. It looks nowhere near as nice as the example site given:
http://www.postnuke-france.org/module-Forum.html
In fact these forums look amazingly better when compared to pnForum. Am I missing something or is pnForum still in its infancy? Should I install a different forum module to get what I'm looking for? And if so which one? -

pnForum is templated, which means you can modify the HTML templates to your liking... much more powerful and easier to work with than other forums IMHO. What you are seeing is the default templates.

If you check the themes downloads you'll see a couple of templates already released for pnForum, and at least one more that I know of (mine) is in the works.
Personaly, I really like that there's no real style to the default... nothing like a fresh canvas to work from. Now if we could just get theme selection support...

And even more in the works.
I have 3 more coming soon that I am just finishing up as well.
Of course you can always take the initiative and theme it yourself.
It is actually very simple to just modify the existing templates to match your site.

I'm with Topiatic there. The way it is now mean almost everyone is going to fix up the templates. Gives a nice fresh look to sites instead of having the same thing on almost every site you go to.
Like the other guys are saying, its a lot easier than it looks to change a few colours and borders then change the graphics.
Best Regards
Denis
