  what is the best and easiest module to install for a photo album i am sure i used to be able to display random photos from an album.

  There are lots of them. As for what's best, you really mean to ask "What's best for my application and requirements?" And we can't easily answer that. For example, I'm using photoshare because it integrates so well with Pagesetter. But you might want something without that integration.
  
  Best bet: try a few and see what works best for you.

  Photoshare is probably the easiest to integrate with PN but I prefer Gallery which has more options and looks better IMHO it's integration is just as easy but installing it in the first place can be problematic.

  I've done a few projects recently with a stunning flash component called SSP - SlideShowPro .. $20 very, very well spent.. I did some code, even wrapped it into a simple module - it's pretty elaborate. I'm pleased with it, the company I'm with are very pleased.. we're to meet to discuss future implications and (a sort of) "sponsorship" of the author.
