  • I was wondering if anyone would be interested in creating the following mods:

    1. A blog system similar to myspace.com where each user gets their own blog and can allow other people to see it by a URL link.
    2. I nkow theres a cs_buddies list...but can someone change it to where if you want to add a person as your buddy they have to aprove you first.

Those are the two main features I'm looking for...if someone made that...I would be the happiest person in the world...being that I don't nkow how to code PHP its hard...I know some asp so I might be able to do it in asp...but this stuff is all in PHP.

    Thanks,
    Daniel
  • 1. A blog system similar to myspace.com where each user gets their own blog and can allow other people to see it by a URL link.

check out Pagesetter, they already have a template system available to do this.
  • what do you mean? I have used Pagesetter before..and they really don't do blogging. And maybe you missed understood me...I want to offer my users their own blog with their own URL as part of mine such as www.mydomain.com/theirblogname

I don't understand how Pagesetter can do that?

I thoughyt Pagesetter was only for admin's user for adding different publications not allowing users a blog.
  • nope, Pagesetter is for a whole lot more stuff.

    http://www.pagesetter.org/index.php?module=Pagesetter&func=viewpub&tid=4&pid=56

there is also pnblog somewhere floating around.
  • Well I see how you can use it for a blog system...but it only allows the administrator of the site to post on the blog...or to have only one blog....I want to be able to give all my users their own blog page with access to post their own blog entries, have their own comments, their own pic, and their own about them section and so on....and where is this pnBlog at? I have searched for a bloggin system all over and haven't found anything.
    Thanks,
    Daniel
  • Sounds like a permissions situation to me.
  • True I could allow users to post...but it would be on one blog. I would like to give users their own blog...not just one blog that everyone updates...thats not really owning your own blog...if I see how it works...it only creates one blog...and changing permissions would only allow users to change that one blog.
  • Sounds like an individual permissions situation to me.

I certainly know that pnAddressBook allows the individual to edit their own entry, but not that of others.
  • ok but its still not everything I'm looknig for...I;m looking fro something like this:
    http://www.ferretfusion.com/members.php?membername=archbob
So that way when a person goes to that page...they see not only the blog entries...but also a picture of the user, their interests and stuff, and so on.
Does anyone else understand what I'm trying to say here? I understand that postnuke has blog capablities but it doesn't look like this.
    Thanks,
    Daniel
  • vb4Journal is a blog module for Postnuke
